Warehouse Technician
The Warehouse Technician prepares and returns equipment orders. The Warehouse Tech is responsible for ensuring that the clients’ orders are complete and ready to deliver or returned and ready to restock. Warehouse Technician will be responsible for collecting, tagging, picking, packing/unpacking and shipping orders. Together with the department managers and leads, the Warehouse Technician will coordinate the prep/deprep of orders on a priority basis.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Major Responsibilities
- Material Handling
- Assist in the pull, prep, and return of equipment orders.
- Stage, load and secure outbound equipment.
- Unload and organize inbound equipment.
- Safely operate Gateway vehicles for local equipment pickups and deliveries.
- Customize or modify the equipment if requested by the customer according to the order.
- Follow quality standards as well as the Gateway’s standards of preparation.
- Ensure the order and cleanliness of work areas.
- Inventory Control
- Examine the lists of equipment to be prepared.
- Utilize Flex software as requested.
- Scan barcodes for each item, including multiple pieces within one unit.
- Scan incoming equipment when returned and check for missing parts and damage.
- Confirm orders are complete with all accessories.
- Keep track of inventories, kits, cable assembly bundles, etc.
- Equipment Repair
- Initiate damage and lost items reporting.
- Ensure that all equipment is in clean and working condition.
- Keep track of inventories, kits, cable assembly bundles, etc.
- Respond to any questions or issues technicians may have.
- Clean and visually inspect returned equipment.
- Upgrade items to the current version (e.g., painting, cleaning, etc.).
- Attendance
- Attendance is an essential requirement for this position.
- Any and all other duties
- To be determined by supervisor on a permanent or project basis.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
Education/Certificates
- High School diploma or 2 years hands on experience in event production or another relevant field .
Experience
- Minimum 1 year of experience in a warehouse environment
- Experience in safe operation of forklift preferred
- Knowledge of inventory software
- Knowledge in live event production equipment
- Strong interpersonal skills
Skills/Abilities

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Physical Demands
- Ability to work at a consistent pace throughout the shift.
- Due to the complexity and weight of the equipment, adequate stamina and physical strength is necessary to perform duties of job.
- Work with power cables and power distribution in common live event environments.
- Work under any prevailing terrain and weather conditions and be appropriately dressed to do so, regardless of cold, heat, humidity, or wet weather conditions.
Strength
- Frequent manual lifting, up to 50 lbs., depending on equipment available (50-80% of shift).
- Frequent pushing and pulling up to 50 lbs., depending on equipment available (50-80% of shift).
Manual Dexterity
- Sufficient manual dexterity to perform activities required under essential functions.
- Frequent light grasping and fine motor tasks (65-85% of shift).
Coordination
- Ability to perform gross body coordination and hand-eye coordination tasks without instability.
- Work on a variety of uneven surfaces installing power cables and lights.
Mobility
- Ability to sit, stand, bend, squat, lift, crawl, twist and move frequently during working hours.
- Frequent standing (65-85%).
- Occasional stair climbing and descending (30% of shift).
Visual
- Must be able to see or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately to assure that the essential functions of this position can be fully met.
Hearing
- Must be able to hear or use prosthetics that will enable the senses to function adequately to assure that the essential functions of this position can be fully met.
Speech
- Must be able to speak and write the English language in an understandable manner.
