GOOSEMAS XII

SUPPORTING GOOSEMAS XII WITH LIGHTING, VIDEO, AND TECH REHEARSALS

Overview

Goose performed their twelfth annual Goosemas during a two-night, sold-out run at the Amica Mutual Pavilion in Providence, RI. Lighting designer Andrew Goedde, with programmer Tony Caporale, implemented a custom horseshoe-shaped audience truss that anchored the room while complementing Goose’s signature on-stage rig and floor packages. Gateway provided full lighting services and video production support, with lighting prep and technical rehearsals insideΒ  Gateway Studios’ 52,500-square-foot Studio 80.

Challenges and Solutions

The large overhead audience truss required planning and programming beyond a standard production environment. Studio 80 offered the scale and flexibility needed to hang, program, and test the lighting systems for both the stage and audience rigs. Gateway and Goose’s video team integrated directly on-site allowing the team to dial in the system in real time for a smooth run.

Execution

The on-stage lighting package featured suspended and floor fixtures from Robe (Forte, Tarrantula, LEDBeam 150) and Chauvet (COLORado PXL Curve 12 and Strike 1). The audience truss utilized Acme Pixel Line IPs and Robe MegaPointes for wide washes and defined beam effects. Lighting control was handled via grandMA3, with Tyler Truss and CM providing rigging support. Gateway’s video package included an on-site 4K HDR broadcast trailer and Panasonic 4K studio cameras to support live capture and production.

Results

Goosemas XII was the result of close collaboration between the Goose production team and Gateway. Gateway Project Manager Paul Gatesh provided expert oversight throughout the process, from technical rehearsals at Gateway Studios to the venue, while Gateway and touring lighting and video teams delivered a seamless lighting setup andΒ  reliable 4K broadcasts across both sold-out performances.
